Food Health AI Premium Subscription Terms
These terms apply to the Food Health AI Premium subscription purchased through Apple's App Store. For general app terms, see our main Terms of Use. For privacy, see our Subscription Privacy Addendum and our main Privacy Policy.
Subscription Details
- Title: Food Health AI Premium
- Length: Auto-renewing annual subscription (1 year)
- Price: $34.99 USD per year (or local equivalent set by Apple's per-region price tier)
- Free trial: 7-day free trial for new subscribers, set in App Store Connect as the introductory offer
Auto-renewal: Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Cancellation: Manage or cancel any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: Food Health AI does not provide refunds for partial subscription periods. Refund requests are handled directly by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com per Apple's standard refund policy.
What Premium Unlocks
Unlimited AI scans (food photos, restaurant menus, cupboard contents, supplement and device displays) for the duration of the subscription. Access to all current Food Health AI features that depend on AI analysis.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) — Independent Alternative
Food Health AI also supports a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) mode. During onboarding, users choose to subscribe to Premium OR configure their own Anthropic API key. After onboarding, users may add, replace, or remove a BYOK key at any time from the app's Settings.
BYOK and a Premium subscription are independent of each other. Configuring a BYOK key does NOT cancel an active Premium subscription, and subscribing to Premium does NOT remove an existing BYOK key. The Premium subscription is a separate billing relationship with Apple that continues until you cancel it via Apple's subscription management.
When a BYOK key is configured, the app uses that key for AI analysis and billing flows directly from Anthropic to the user. While BYOK is in place, the user's Premium subscription (if any) is unused but remains active and continues to renew per its Apple billing schedule until canceled.
Removing a BYOK key while a Premium subscription is active falls back to subscription-managed access seamlessly.
Food Health AI does not collect payment for BYOK usage. BYOK billing is between the user and Anthropic.
AI Accuracy Disclaimer
Calorie and macronutrient estimates produced by AI are approximate. Food Health AI is for educational and tracking purposes only and is not medical advice. Consult a registered dietitian, doctor, or qualified healthcare professional for clinical decisions.
Subscription Transferability
Subscriptions are tied to the Apple ID that purchased them and follow Apple's Family Sharing rules where applicable.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the subscription after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
